These exercises can be completed in a separate journal from the art prompt or in the same one.

Feel free to take several days to complete the exercises.

 

Are there still more feelings about this relationship that are coming up for you?

 

Are you angry about anything?

Are you sad about anything?

Are you ashamed of anything?

Do you still have loving feelings for this person?

 

Do you have any urges towards this person? (For example: reaching out to them, sexual feelings, avoidance, rage, desires etc.)

 

Are there any other feelings that come to mind?

Get a canvas, scrap or kraft paper, and some paints. They can be craft paints, children’s paints, or artist grade paints if you so choose.

Have at least 3 color choices. 

Lay out the paper and paints in a place where you won't be held back from getting a little (or a lot) messy. 

Maybe place an old cloth or newspaper down.

Now, Invite your highest Self to join you in this practice  

Take a moment to breathe in and out. Close your eyes for a few seconds if you'd like.

 

Allow yourself to choose intuitively which color you want to use first. This just means pick the color that stands out to you!

 

Take the paint and put some onto the paper.

Use your hands.

Move it around.

Get messy.

Let go of your thinking mind and just let your hands move. Pick more colors to use if you’d like. 

 

Notice any critical thoughts you might have, yet try to step back from them and continue to listen to the movement of your body. 

You may wish to journal some more about this exercise when you are finished.
